2017 has kicked off with a splash and as usual January has been busy for the club.

The Leinster Minor and Senior schools kicked off the year up in Tallaght on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th.  Many of our club members availed of   this rare opportunity to represent their school in a provincial arena.  Podium places, personal best achievements and some exciting relay displays were the order of the weekend. It is also nice for the schools to appreciate the hard work and commitment shown by these students, particularly when other sporting activities  often get more focus within the schools.

Next up, The Leinster Graded Gala on Sunday 15 th of January.  14 club members under the coaching skills of Sarah Ryan and Sinead Donovan represented the club,  and showed great determination in progressing their PB times.

The Club took their turn in hosting the South Leinster Round Robin on Saturday evening 21st.  All of the local county clubs were in attendance as well as St. Fiacc’s of Carlow and Asgard of Arklow.  New Ross are currently topping the South Leinster League, with Slaney hot on their heels.  2 more rounds of competition will see the group decided.  Thanks to Sinead, Committee, Coaches and Parents who made this gala so enjoyable.  Well done to the swimmers from across all the clubs.

Ending the January gala activity on a high; the  A, J1 and J2 squads took to the water again at the Leinster Distance .  16 club members attended with the aim of achieving Irish National Age Group Division II and Division I times.  They were successful in reaching 15 new Div 1 times and two Div 2 times.  What is more, more times are in reach with swimmers edging closer to further qualifications. Thanks as always to Head Coach Fran Ronan assisted by Steve Cruise and Paul Allen.
