Irish swimmers produced a weekend of exciting races with a number
of Irish records broken and European and World consideration times met
at this Swim Ireland /Swim Ulster International event. 17 year old Danielle Hill made history as she became the
fastest ever Irish female swimmer. The Larne swimmer broke Julie
Douglas’ 2002 50m Freestyle record of 26.02 by eight hundreth’s of a
second to clock 25.94 seconds, the fastest female swimming record (long
course) in Ireland. Thanks to head coach Fran Ronan ,New Ross Swimming Club also competed. 10 members from team New Ross qualified for the event, with 8 travelling. The group performed well, holding and /or improving personal times, with 3 of the team, Jack NW, Denis and Caoimhe making finals, a great achievement. Well done to Eoin Bergin, Jack Coode, Cian Foley, Denis Kilbride, Jack Nolan Whitney, Stuart Vaughan, Min Allen and Caoimhe Daly. |
