9 swimmers from the Club swam in the National Short Course championships It was a big show of strength for the club to have qualified in such large numbers. The past few years have been difficult, but thanks to Fran, her team, the committee and the parents things are really on the up for NRS. This is an open event, and to see our young swimmers, some just gone 13 up there competing at national level is fantastic. All of the swimmers improved their times in one event or another , we had several top ten finishes and at this level... finals, so a real credit to swimmers commitment and Frans excellent guidance. Deirbhile Cruise (16) earned bronze in the 1500 free, a real achievement to get a national podium placing. This small club fielded both a male and female relay team in all of the relay events, again a major feat for a small club. The Apex, Town of New Ross and all the parents should be very proud. Thirteen national records were broken at the National Short course this weekend. |
