Irish Division 2 National Championships and Summer Nationals Round up
Thank you Steve!
Steve has been coaching our development squads over the past few years. Coming to the club as a parent, and then getting involved in coaching, his committment has been second to none, travelling a great distance early mornings even after Deirbhile ceased swimming. Steve has been a great support to Head coach Fran Ronan, helping her bring her training programme to fruition. He will be missed by swimmers and parents and we thank him sincerely for his time at New Ross Swimming Club. Thanks also to Elaine and all the Cruise family for giving us this time! |

11 ducks Limerick Bound
The 2018 Irish National Division 2 Competition takes place in UL Sport, Limerick this Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th July. Eleven New Ross Swimmers have acheived hard earned times for this end of season second division national competition. Senior swimmers Jack Coode, Cillian Foley and Danielle Colfer lead the march, all three experienced swimmers at national level. In the junior category, Jaden Chan, attending his second division 2 is joined by several first timers including Laura Connell, Rosin Kenny, Phelim O' Connor, Cael Colfer, Eva Bayley, Tiernan Foley and Donnacha McCarthy. This is the first year of a new qualification pathway, where swimmers have only a limited oppertunity to qualify for national events, such is the competition at this level. We wish all of our young swimmers the very best over the 4 days. The warm spell does make competition conditions even more challenging for the eleven, but they have been following a well considered training programme developed by Head Coach Fran Ronan and we hope to see good perfomrances from the team.
